Context

What is agentic finance?

Finance is moving from AI that answers to AI that acts.

Until recently, most AI in finance analysed, predicted or assisted. Agentic systems go further: they can carry out multi-step financial workflows within defined controls, escalating exceptions and decisions to people when required.

The Agentic Finance 100 tracks companies bringing that capability into financial workflows, assessed on public evidence of what their agents do.

  1. AI AssistantanswersResponds to questions and retrieves information. A person still does the work.
  2. AI CopilotassistsDrafts and suggests inside a person’s workflow. The person decides and executes.
  3. AI AgentactsPlans and completes multi-step financial tasks within limits people set, with people reviewing and accountable.

Market insights

What the market is telling us

Mapping 454 companies for the 2026 Edition showed agentic AI appearing across the financial stack, but unevenly. Some workflows are represented far more heavily in the Top 100 than others.

  1. 01

    Compliance is the largest cluster

17 of the Top 100 companies are concentrated in Compliance & FinCrime, the largest category in the ranking.

The work combines information-heavy investigation, repeatable procedures, documentation and escalation to people. Of the 17, 9 focus mainly on investigating alerts and cases, and 8 on reviews such as KYC/KYB, onboarding and regulatory or marketing compliance. Several draft the records the work requires, such as SAR narratives, case files and audit trails, and leave final decisions with analysts.

    AIIC View

Compliance may be one of the clearest early proving grounds for autonomous financial workflows.

See the 17 Compliance & FinCrime companies
  2. 02

Lending is moving beyond AI-assisted decisions

Lending & Credit accounts for 13 of the Top 100.

Their agents appear across the loan lifecycle: 3 focus on origination and document work, 4 on credit analysis and underwriting, and 6 on servicing and collections, the work that follows the credit decision.

    AIIC View

The important transition is from AI helping make a lending decision to AI participating in the workflow surrounding that decision.

See the 13 Lending & Credit companies
  3. 03

Insurance agents are reaching core workflows

10 of the Top 100 primarily serve insurance.

5 focus on underwriting and submission intake, 2 on claims, and 3 run operational work spanning intake, servicing, claims and broker tasks.

    AIIC View

Insurance is emerging as a clear example of agents moving from assistance into operational execution.

    See the 10 Insurance companies
  4. 04

Agentic Finance is a stack, not a category

The Top 100 spans 16 primary categories, from compliance and lending to tax, treasury and fund administration.

No category holds more than 17 companies, and 58 of the 100 are also classified in a secondary category.

    AIIC View

Agentic Finance is unlikely to develop as one standalone software category. Agents are becoming a new execution layer across existing financial markets.

Methodology

How the 100 were selected

Every company was assessed on public evidence: company and investor announcements, regulatory filings and independent coverage. Marketing claims are labelled as company-reported and are never treated as verified.

  1. 454identified and screened
  2. 151deeply researched
  3. 130qualified on evidence
  4. 100selected for the 2026 Edition

Eight ranking dimensions

Qualified companies are scored out of 100. Weights are shown below; company-level scores are not published.

  • Agentic finance relevance25

How directly autonomous agents initiate, execute or control financial work in the product, rather than assisting a person who does it.

  • Market traction15

Evidence of production use at scale: deployments, volumes and adoption beyond pilots.

  • Funding & financial strength10

Capital raised, excluding debt facilities. Valuation never contributes to this dimension.

  • Customer quality10

Named customers and the strength of the evidence behind them.

  • Differentiation10

What is distinctive about the product, data or approach compared with alternatives.

  • Enterprise relevance10

Fit for regulated institutions and enterprise finance teams.

  • Growth momentum10

Recency of funding and documented customer or revenue growth.

  • Editorial relevance10

How clearly the company illustrates where agentic finance is heading. Commercial or other relationships with AI InterConnect play no part.

Principles

  • Agents must do the work. Selection favours products in which autonomous agents perform financial work in production; tools that only assist a person score lower.
  • Capital, not valuation. Funding strength uses capital raised. Debt is excluded and valuation is never scored.
  • Evidence labels. Figures and customers are marked as verified, third-party estimate or company-reported.
  • Independence. Commercial or other relationships with AI InterConnect play no part in selection or ranking.
  • Wider ecosystem. Agent infrastructure providers, established industry leaders and AI-native operators are assessed separately and are not ranked in the 100.
  • Geography. 66 of the 2026 Top 100 are based in North America. This reflects the evidence available through our research process and should not be interpreted as a measure of global market share.
